Cyrus Saint Amand Poliakoff
Social Worker
Vienna, Austria
Cyrus Saint Amand Poliakoff
Cyrus Saint Amand Poliakoff, at 29-years-old, has been studying Lacanian Psychoanalysis for seven years now with an independent seminar group. However he has just recently delved into this field professionally, ending his career in event production to begin a career as a social worker. He now publishes work in psychoanalytic journals, including a recent piece he wrote on David Lynch’s film Island Empire; directs a seminar at the New York Freud and Lacan Analytic Group called “Culture and Psychoanalysis”; and presents papers at psychoanalytic conferences. Cyrus shot his spread while at The Rathaus in Vienna during Life Ball, in which he produced a voguing ball for Fergie to help raise money for AIDS—a ball hosted by bold-faced names like Ladyfag, Kelly Osbourne and the Dsquared twins. When Cyrus was too busy during the event, he passed off the camera to his collaborator and close friend, Grant Worth, who, at one point, was told by Azealia Banks to get out of her way. Aside for the hard work, there was nothing routine about Cyrus’s trip to Vienna. “Was I really there?” he asked us.
